About
Welcome to Usha Bangladeshi Cuisine, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon. Located at 28 Meer St, this inviting restaurant is dedicated to bringing the rich flavors of Bangladeshi cuisine to life. From the moment you step through the door, you're enveloped in an atmosphere filled with warmth and hospitality, ideal for both casual diners and special occasions.
One of the standout features of Usha is its diverse menu, showcasing an array of special curries like the Chicken and Lamb Tikka Mossala, both available for £13.95. For a seafood treat, the Tandoori King Prawn Mossala at £16.95 perfectly complements the fragrant pilau rice included with their mossala dishes. Vegetarians can indulge in the delectable Poneer Mossala (£13.95) or the rich Makhon (£16.95), where king prawns are exquisitely cooked in creamy tomato sauce. If you're in the mood for something mild yet luxurious, the Pasanda Nawabi is a must-try—tender lamb sliced and cooked in fresh cream, cultured yoghurt, and mixed ground nuts.
The chef’s specialities take the dining experience another notch up. For instance, the Nawabi dish, featuring breast of chicken or king prawn stuffed with minced lamb, cooked with ground almonds in a sweet, creamy sauce is priced at £12.95. The Kashmiri Massala is unique, drawing inspiration from Persian royal origins, and is tantalizingly fruity. Pair it with a traditional nan for a full experience.
The Balti dishes surely won't disappoint, either. Ranging from Chicken Balti (£9.95) to Lamb Prawn Balti (£11.95), the options are generous and flavorful, making it a perfect choice for those who relish vibrant spices and hearty servings. Many guests rave about the portion sizes and the overall quality of the meals, often finding themselves taking home leftovers—a testament to the generous servings!

“ We had a meal here during a weekend break. It was a bit quiet but it was a Sunday evening. The food is very good with lots of choice. Good quality and very nice taste too. They have beer on tap Kingfisher and Cobra so essential for a curry. The staff were very friendly and welcoming , spending a few minutes to chat with us between courses and ask about our weekend. I would recommend this place and we will go back next time we are in Stratford. We spent a bit more than usual but the beer and wine were cheaper than some of the local pubs so made an evening of it. ”
